Dona Jean (Adams) Affleck was born on 8/29/1929 and passed away at the age of 93 on 3/27/2023. She was preceded in death by her parents Glen and Beryl Adams and her beloved husband Jim Affleck. She is survived by her children Adrienne Mintz, A.J. Affleck, and Nila Henneman, 5 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.\n\nDona grew up in Taft, California until attending Stanford University where she graduated with a degree in Biological Sciences. In an embryology lab class she met her future husband. She and Jim were married at the Memorial Church in 1953. \n\nDona raised her children in Sacramento where she actively volunteered in the community. She was President of the Stanford Alumni Association of Sacramento, organized an auxiliary for Planned Parenthood, served on the State Board for the Children’s Receiving home, and sat on the boards of the Medical Auxiliary, Cancer League, Sutter Hospital Auxiliary, and Symphony League.\n\nBut there was lots of time for leisure too! Dona enjoyed reading (especially mysteries), design and plant care gardening, entertaining, decorating, playing bridge and dominoes, summers at Lake Tahoe, and traveling with Jim. They went on many fabulous trips together including to Madagascar, the Galápagos Islands, and an around the world flight. \n\nDona had a long, productive, fulfilling life. A presence is missing.
