Obituary for Jeffrey James Weiland, 7/13/1985 – 4/02/2025

Jeffrey James was born at Seqouia Hospital in Redwood City, Ca. July 13th 1985, survived by his parents Dustin and Kathleen Weiland of El Dorado, Ca, his brother and sister-in-law, Joseph Weiland and Kristy Weiland, their two children Madelyn and Lily Weiland, from Cameron Park, Ca; also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Kristen Horton and Michael Horton of Orangevale, Ca.

Jeffrey leaves behind 3 children: Abbey Weiland and Andrew Weiland from his first wife, Aimee Ramsey Weiland, and Joy Weiland from his second wife, Kirsten Howell. All reside in Folsom, Ca.

Jeffrey's self-proclaimed best achievement was his three children, Abbey, Andrew and Joy; they were the world to him. He often took them camping to the beach, the park, movies, snow skiing, and I-fly for indoor skydiving. If you knew Jeff, you knew he loved to jump out of perfectly good airplanes and somehow talked Mike into doing it twice with him! Jeff loved his children and always took time to help them with their schoolwork and other things that came up in life that needed to be explained.

Jeff was a very intelligent person and got accepted to and offers to several universities: UC DAVIS, California State University, Chico, University of California, San Diego, San Jose State, South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. Jeff chose to not accept any of these offers and got a job with a doctor’s office in Cameron Park with Krissy: they worked a few jobs together over the years. Jeff then worked as a car salesperson for a short time, additionally went to work for learning how plumb at KSP Plumbing Inc, where he got to work side by side with his brother, Joe. Finally, Jeff decided that he wanted to work in the medical field and asked an old girlfriends’ mom to teach him everything there was to know about becoming an EEG technician. His mentor was Roberta Esfandiarfard; teaching him everything she knew regarding neuroscience. Roberta spent many hours prepping Jeff for his medical boards in order to get him into that career. It paid off, and he told Roberta that it was the hardest test he had ever taken. Since his passing, Jeff has been nominated to Emeritus status for an EEG Technologist of the Neurosciences, making him the 4297th EEG Tech to ever ascertain that place in the world. He worked for Sutter Hospital in this career for approximately 18 years.

Jeff was a very proud self-taught chef, who spent hours learning how to make handmade pasta and an incredible number of other recipes. "Respect the dough" was his mantra as he would spend hours making it. He also shared the joy of cooking with his son, Andrew and daughter, Joy. They both loved to get involved in preparing food and desserts. He and his wife had a You tube channel, known as “Honey I’m a Home Chef”, where his youngest daughter, Joy would teach little recipes and outshine her Daddy in the spotlight.

Jeffrey was known to be not only very smart, but to be extremely funny, charismatic, and very giving. He used to overcook so he could pass out food to his neighbors, friends, and family. He prepared food for his in-laws when they weren’t ambulatory, and having a very difficult time getting around. Jeff really liked doing those things for anyone in need. He will be missed, and our hearts will never be fully complete without him here.
