Lois Jean (Harr) Norman passed away peacefully at home on January 4, 2022 with her family by her side. She was born in San Francisco on May 28, 1942 to Harriet and Fred Harr, and raised alongside older brother Richard, in Mill Valley. Lois graduated from Tam High in 1960. In 1961, she married James Norman. They lived in San Rafael and later settled in Novato where they raised their two daughters, Tracy and Michele. Lois was a devoted mother and wife. She was a dedicated employee at her uncle's family business, Egger and Son Nurseries, dental offices of Drs. Landa and Lampert, and lastly at Strom Electric...which she loved so much she didn't want to retire! After her daughters were grown, she began her next chapter with the man she called "The Love of My Life"...Martin Murray. They lived in Santa Rosa, then upon retirement, bought a beautiful home in Placerville. Many happy memories were made there together, and with their blended family and many friends. Lois had many hobbies and interests throughout her life including: sewing, photography, gardening, reading, watercolor painting, SF Giants, car races, card games, trips to the casino, movies, reality tv, game shows, playing endless games on her tablet, and her 5 o'clock glass of red wine! She loved music and attended many concerts over her lifetime. Neil Diamond was her personal favorite, but later she took her "girls" to rock concerts before they could drive themselves...including The Rolling Stones and The Who! Some of her memorable travels included: cruises to the Caribbean, Alaska, New England/Canada; RV trips with Marty along the California coast and Oregon; Lake Tahoe, Bodega Bay; and her all time favorite...Maui! To know Lois was to love her. To her girls, she was a not only a friend and confidante, but ever the "cool" mom that all of their friends loved and felt accepted by. Marty always called her "The Voice of Reason", which drew many to her for direction and validation. She always helped you see things clearly. Despite the health challenges Lois faced later in life, she never complained, but accepted them with grace and dignity and an ambition to live a long and happy life. Like her beloved stepson, Martin Murray Jr., who predeceased her in life, Lois was an example to all of how to carry on, despite the daily challenges she faced. She was much like her mother Harriet, "a tough old bird", and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Lois is survived by her immediate family: Life Partner/Husband, Martin Murray; Daughters, Tracy Norman Rempe and Michele Vespa (Bill); Step-Daughter, Teri Lohrmann (Martin); Grandsons, Joey Rempe and Tony Vespa; Step-Grand Daughters, Alyssa Groff (Dustin) and Jelina Hollberg (Coleman); Step-Great Grand Daughters, Pria, Evalette, and Naomi Groff; As well as Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and many dear Friends. A celebration of Lois' life will be held at a future date. Memorial donations can be made to: Sacramento Food Bank, Snowline Hospice, or charity of your choosing.
